What does home insurance NOT cover?
Home insurance won’t cover some disasters like floods, earthquakes, mold, or nuclear damage. You’ll have to buy separate coverage for each. Preventable damage also isn’t covered, such as rodent damage, pest infestations, or damage from leaky pipes.
Home insurance can also vary based on other factors. For instance, depending on where you live, some insurance carriers won’t cover damage from hurricanes or tornados. Others have lower limits on property coverage, so they may not replace any expensive items.
All insurance policies have exclusions, so you should check with your Cross Insurance agent to make sure your chosen policy covers what you need, otherwise you’ll need additional coverage, like home warranty coverage.
